How do you offer subscribe and save on Shopify, on the product page, in the cart and at checkout?
Where does Zubs offer the subscription?
At each point where a customer is already buying:
| Where | What the customer sees | Shopify plan |
|---|---|---|
| Product page | Subscribe & Save widget, or Subscription Packs for pack sizes | Every plan |
| Cart and cart drawer | A one-click offer under each eligible line, with one click to undo | Every plan |
| Checkout | The same offer in the order summary, plus a short subscription recap | Shopify Plus |
All of them read the frequencies and discounts from your subscription plans. You set the saving once, and every offer shows it.
What does the Subscribe & Save widget do?
It puts one-time and subscription side by side on the product page, with the saving spelled out and the delivery frequency right next to it. Customers see the crossed-out price, what they save per delivery and, for prepaid plans, the total they pay upfront. A short line such as “Pause, skip or cancel anytime” answers a common worry before anyone commits. Showing both options side by side is deliberate. Customers who choose the subscription knowing they could have bought once tend to stay longer than those nudged into it.
You style it in the Shopify theme editor to match your theme, without code. HeySkin styled the widget to match its clinical skincare brand, so subscribe and save reads as part of the treatment plan rather than a bolt-on.
What are Subscription Packs?
An alternative for products sold in pack sizes, such as a single, a double and a value pack. Each pack becomes a tile with its price, saving and image, with one switch between one-time and subscription on top. You can label packs “Most popular” or “Best value”, so the choice customers make is the size, not whether to subscribe.
How does the cart offer work?
Customers who added a product without noticing the subscribe option get a second chance. Under each eligible line in the cart or cart drawer, a button names the saving, for example “Make it a subscription - save 10%”. One press converts the line and updates the price, and the button then offers to switch back. The question stays a plain yes or no, and the frequency can be changed afterwards.
On Shopify Plus, the same offer also appears in checkout, and every order with a subscription shows a short recap of how often it’s delivered and that it can be managed in the customer’s account.
How does it fit with the rest of Zubs?
The offers sell the subscription plans you define, and what customers start here they manage later in the customer portal. The one-time-buyers playbook shows how to combine the offers with a Klaviyo follow-up and what to measure. The conversion calculator estimates what a higher subscription share would earn you.
Set it up in the help center: customize the widget and Subscription Packs.
Who is it for?
Shops with products people buy again, such as coffee, supplements, skincare, pet food or household goods, where some first orders are one-time buys from customers who would subscribe once they see the saving.
Bottom line
Zubs offers the subscription on the product page, in the cart and, on Shopify Plus, in checkout, always with the saving from your plan and one click to undo. Customers who would subscribe see the option at every step of the purchase.
